The trial of Oscar Pistorius for the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp has been put back until August to allow more time for investigation.
The 26-year-old Olympic and Paralympic athlete appeared in court in Pretoria for a brief hearing this morning.
He says he shot 29-year-old Ms Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder at his home on Valentine's Day this year.
The hearing has been postponed until the 19th of August, with a full trial expected to be scheduled for some time early next year.
Talk 702 journalist Alex Eliseev was in court in Johannesburg - he's spoken to Newstalk's Breakfast:

The Paralympic athlete has been in virtual isolation for four months after being freed on bail over Ms. Steenkamp's killing - he's only been seen in public twice.
Ms Steenkamp, 29, was shot dead through a locked toilet door at his home.
The brevity of Pistorius' appearance this morning wasn't unexpected. Angelique Serrao, reporter with the Star Newspaper in South Africa, told Newstalk's Breakfast earlier that he would probably only stand before the judge for about 10 minutes:

} ], { swfPath: '/assets/includes/js/jPlayer', supplied: 'mp3', wmode: 'window', solution: 'flash, html' });
Police investigators will now work to continue gathering evidence.
After he was granted bail, Pistorius was photographed on his practice track in March and reportedly visited a Johannesburg restaurant with friends in April.
It comes after the parents of his model girfriend spoke of their need for answers.
In a TV documentary, June Steenkamp said: "There is only one person who knows what happened.
"Why? Why did he shoot her? I want to know why he shot her.
"She must have been so afraid in the toilet. One bullet had already hit her, so she must have been in severe pain."
The Channel 5 programme, shown last night - Why Did Oscar Pistorius Kill Our Daughter? - also showed Ms Steenkamp's personal photographs, letters and drawings.
