Over 100 people have been killed on Irish roads so far this year, as Gardaí are set to launch a Christmas Road Safety Campaign.
Superintendent Liam Geraghty from the Garda Press Office has a very simple appeal.
“Make your plans when you are socialising this weekend and next weekend prior to Christmas,” he said.

“Know how you’re getting to wherever you’re going, know how you’re getting home – where possible, use public transport or designated drivers.”
167 people have been killed on the roads so far.
