More than 100 people are involved in land and water based searches for a missing fisherman in Lough Ree in Co Westmeath.

He was on board a small boat with two other men, when it capsized on Thursday near Athlone.

A 27 year old man died in hospital yesterday, while another remains critically ill.

The Coastguard, RNLI, Civil Defence, the Gardai and volunteers are scouring the lake and shoreline for any sign of the missing man.

Damien Delaney from Lough Ree RNLI Lifeboat says they've been inundated with volunteers helping in the search.
