Over 160 people were arrested over the bank holiday weekend for drink or drug driving, Gardaí have confirmed.
The St. Brigid's weekend Garda road safety operation comes to an end at 7AM this morning.
As of last night, 163 people had been arrested for drink or drug driving, while over a thousand were caught speeding.
There were also three deaths on the roads during the course of the operation, which aimed to clamp down on unsafe driving.
It brings the total number of lives lost on the roads this year to 14 - four fewer than the 18 people that had died by this point in 2024.
