The homecare provider Bluebird Care has announced the creation of 510 new jobs across the country.

The positions will come on stream over the next 6 months and will be open to care assistants and support workers nationwide.

The company says the jobs have been created thanks to the increase in demand for home care services.

Bluebird Care is a franchise operation and was set up in Ireland in 2007.

It now has 18 offices nationwide with franchises due to come on stream in Wexford, Westmeath, Longford and Roscommon.

Positions will be advertised on www.bluebirdcare.ie and on FAS.ie in the coming weeks.

Tipperary/East Cork: currently employ 58 – 25 new jobs

Northeast (Cavan, Monaghan & Louth) currently employ 10 – 80 new jobs

Meath ”“ currently 14 – 15 new jobs

Meanwhile the medical devices company Cambus Teo based in Galway has also announced its creating 35 new positions.

The new jobs will be based in Spiddal.

It follows a 50% acquistion of the company by global medical device company Helix Medical.

Cambus Teo is based at Baile an tsagairt in the Spiddal Industrial Estate and currently employs 50 people.

It develops, designs and manufactures critical components for minimally invasive devices used in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
