Sligo's to get 45 new jobs through online discount retailer Overstock.com.
The positions will be in software development.
The company employs more than 1,300 people worldwide.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton has welcomed the announcement, attributing Overstock's arrival to the Succeed in Ireland scheme, which he says has seen the delivery of multinational investment to regional locations that wouldn not normally come onto the radar of IDA companies.
Minister Bruton describes the announcement as "... great news for the north-west, and a significant endorsement of both Sligo and Ireland in delivering the needs of multinational companies."
Steve Tryon, SVP Human Capital Management & International Business at Overstock.com said the potential in Sligo excited the company. "The Irish development team will be involved centrally in many existing activities and will lead on several new initiatives associated with our International expansion.’
Commenting on the announcement, Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland said, "Sligo is one of Ireland’s Gateway locations. IDA Ireland markets Ireland's Gateway locations to companies across the world. Companies like Overstock.com are mobile investors and the availability of the right staff in the software development sector is a key attraction to Sligo."
