A high proportion of Irish parents aren't administering drugs like paracetamol to their children properly.

New research by experts at University College Cork shows that two-thirds of parents are using the drugs incorrectly.

According to the study published in the Irish Medical Journal, more information needs to be made available on the use of such medication.

The research has also found that 90 percent of these types of drugs are bought at pharmacies, but only a quarter of parents or guardians take advice from pharmacists.
