A park in Dublin is set to be named after Boyzone's Stephen Gately.
The motion was put forward at a Central Area Committee meeting today, proposing to have the Royal Canal Linear Park dedicated to the late singer.
Anthony Flynn was one of the councillors who lodged the successful motion, and he says it will be a "fantastic tribute to Stephen".
Stephen Gately died suddenly in 2009, at the age of 33, while staying at his holiday home in Mallorca.
He grew up in the Sheriff Street area of Dublin, near the park that's now expected to be renamed.
The singer's former band mates are among those who've voiced their support for the memorial in Dublin.
Ronan Keating welcomed today's news, saying: "Thank you Thank you. This is amazing news".
Keith Duffy, meanwhile, yesterday evening said he hoped councillors would back the proposal.
He said: "What a beautiful way to remember the legend of Stephen Gately".
Stephen's mother Margaret is also said to have given her blessing to the plan.
