The family of the young girl seriously injured in the Parnell Square attack are hoping she will be home full time before Christmas.
In the latest update on the family’s GoFundMe page, they note that they can now “see changes in our little angel on a daily basis”.
The family says the new hospital the girl has been transferred to is “really inspiring” and her condition is improving now that she is in the fourth week of her ‘gym’.
The family is thanking people all over Ireland for their generosity – noting that the donations have helped them fund a move to new home with a wheelchair-adapted layout.
Home by Christmas
“The money has come a long way,” they wrote.
“Over the last months, we have had to move to a bigger place with a wheelchair accessible layout, furnish the house thinking about space and functionality and get an adapted car which has enabled us to take our darling home at the weekends.”
They note that they are now hoping to be “home full time before Christmas”.
Recovery
It comes just weeks after the child was officially discharged from Temple Street Children's Hospital.
She spent 281 days in Temple Street after she was stabbed in the attack outside Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire on Parnell Square.
The family has previously announced that she will have to “relearn everything” as she continues her recovery.
The attack also saw two other young children and a carer injured.
50-year-old Riad Bouchaker has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and is currently before the courts.
