A girl (5) seriously injured in a stabbing on Parnell Square in Dublin last month is now out of danger.
In an update to a GoFundMe page setup to help the family, the child's mother wished those who have supported them a Happy New Year.
She said her daughter had been out of Paediatric Intensive Care for two weeks, adding their 'little angel' is more alert and even smiled.
"Just to wish everyone a delayed Christmas and a Happy new year," she wrote on the fundraising platform.
"Our angel has been out of the PICU for two weeks now. She is more alert and even smiled.
"We still have a long time still in hospital, but she is out of danger. Thank you everyone for all the help and support."
The organisers said the title of the fundraiser has been changed from 'Róisín Fundraiser' to 'Barróg do Chailín Beag' (A Hug for a Little Girl).
They said this is because Barróg is the name of the teddy bear who "has been keeping a special school seat warm."
Three young children and a carer were injured in the attack outside Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire.
Another fundraiser was set up to buy hero Deliveroo driver Caio Benicio a pint in thanks after he intervened in the stabbings.
He previously told Newstalk he has two children of his own - and when he saw the knife, he acted without thinking.
"When you see a man with a knife, I think she was five years old - a little girl - you don't have time to think too much,” he said.
“It's so quick you just act like an instinct.
“That's what I did, I think all parents who have kids would do the same," he added.
Two of this year's top five most-fundraised accounts on GoFundMe were related to the Parnell Square stabbings.
A 50-year-old man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following the knife attack in November.
