Gardaí are investigating the discovery of partial skeletal remains at a housing estate in Dublin.

The remains were found during works on a site at the Lissenfield housing estate in Rathmines yesterday evening.

It is believed they may have been there for some time and a forensic anthropologist has been examining them overnight.

The scene has been sealed off and Gardaí are continuing to carry out a technical examination of the site.

The investigation is ongoing.
