Passengers on board Air India's Gaya-Varanasi-Delhi flight reportedly clashed with the cabin crew mid-flight, over the distribution of breakfast on Friday afternoon.
According to reports, the flight took off from Gaya with 50 passengers headed for New Delhi. Soon after take-off, passengers were served tea and biscuits instead of a "proper" breakfast. Some passengers also alleged that one of the co-pilots 'misbehaved' when they demanded a proper breakfast.
Angry over the behaviour of the airline staff and the lack of breakfast, passengers went on a rampage mid-air and even damaged some crockery. When the plane landed at the Babatpur airport at 5pm, the passengers came out of the aircraft and staged a protest, demanding that their fares be returned.
The matter was resolved following the intervention of Air India's assistant manager. As a result of the protest, the flight took off for its onward journey to New Delhi nearly an hour and thirty minutes late.
