Pat Falvey has had several career changes in his life, and he’s renowned around the world as an adventurer and team trainer.

He was born in Gurranabraher on the northside of Cork City, where he lived with his parents, Tim and Abina, and his five siblings.

But it was his grandmother who was the biggest influence in his early life, when he began helping her run her business selling second-hand clothes.

It sparked his interest in business, and his entrepreneurial success meant he was employing 20 people by the age of 17, and he was a millionaire at just 21 years of age.

The collapse of his firm triggered a difficult period in his life, but a love of hill-walking followed. Since then he’s climbed Mount Everest twice, led expeditions to some of the most remote places on Earth and has lived with over 30 tribes around the world.

He’s one of Ireland’s leading motivational business speakers and storytellers, and he has two sons, Brian and Patrick.

And these are Pat Falvey’s musical heirlooms....

Pat's song choices were:

  • Louis Armstrong - Frankie and Johnny
  • Mary Black and Jimmy McCarthy - As I Leave Behind Néidín
