It's being seen as the first tangible fallout since it emerged that equine DNA was discovered in burgers processed here. 

ABP is the parent company of Silvercrest foods, the Monaghan processing plant which manufactured the Tesco burger containing 29% horsemeat.

The Irish Independent is reporting that Burger King had bought all of the burgers for its Irish and UK outlets from ABP.

The case of a 72 year old serial rapist who walked free from court on bail having received a 3 year jail sentence is back before the Central Criminal Court tomorrow.

Patrick O'Brien of Old Court Avenue, Bray is in ill health and had 9 years of a 12 years jail sentence suspended by Mr Justice Paul Carney on Monday.

He'll now appear before the judge tomorrow morning when lawyers for the Director of Public Prosecutions may make an application in the case.

His release on bail ahead of an appeal against his sentence has caused public contrroversy.

His daughter Fiona Doyle, who he abused for a decade, has been praised by Taoiseach Enda Kenny for her courage in going public.

Owner Niall O'Farrell has told staff the company, which has 11 stores across the country, is to go into liquidation by Friday February 1st because of a number of factors including a decline in the formal wear rental market and increased rates. 

The outlets will trade as normal and will honour all committments to staff and customers, as efforts are made to secure a buyer.

Mr. O'Farrell who's appeared on the Dragon's Den TV show says he's spent most of his career developing the Blacktie brand and has made the decision with "deep regret". 

Search giant Google has hit a new annual revenue high.

The company's seen an increase in profits, despite ploughing more money into developing smartphone and tablet technology.

Google had full year earnings of $10.74 billion, that's up 10%.
