A man has been arrested following the discovery of a woman’s body in Cork last week. 

On Friday, Gardaí announced they had found the body of Paula Canty, age 31, at a property on Bridewell Lane in the town of Mallow. 

Gardaí believe she died as a result of foul play and a murder probe has been launched following her postmortem. 

A man in his 40s was arrested this afternoon and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region.
