The tactical 'pauses' in a military operation by Israel to allow aid into Gaza have been described as 'delusional' by an Israeli minister. 

Security Minister Ben Gvir said the plan hasn't been approved by Cabinet and is "contrary to its decisions”. 

"The one who decided on a 'tactical truce' for the purpose of a humanitarian transition, especially at a time when many of our soldiers are falling in battle, is evil and a fool who should not continue in his position,” he said. 

“It's time to get out of the concept and stop the crazy and delusional approach that only brings us more dead and fallen.” 

The IDF announced it would take daily breaks in specific areas to allow aid trucks to reach displaced citizens in Gaza. 

It's understood the efforts are being coordinated with the UN and international aid agencies.

Sky News Middle East Correspondent Alistair Bunkall noted the pause in conflict only applies to a specific route in the Strip. 

“This is not a pause in Israeli military activity,” he said. “It’s just a pause in one strategic route that the Israelis hope will result in humanitarian aid getting deeper into Gaza. 

“It's an attempt to get more humanitarian aid into Gaza, particularly from the Kerem Shalom crossing, which at the moment is the only proper function aid crossing.”

Humanitarian agencies have said it's getting harder day by day to get aid into Gaza as convoys are being denied entry. 

Action Aid Ireland has claimed famine is near and people are dying of starvation. 

Spokesperson Karol Balfe said many children “in a given three-day period are not even eating once during that period. 

“The fact that aid is restricted in that way is shocking and has to be changed,” she said. 

“The Rafah Crossing must be opened, and full land access of aid must be allowed into the starving population of Gaza.” 

She said the situation in Gaza has “deteriorated” since May 7th when the IDF took control of the Rafah Crossing. 

According to Ms Balfe, the UN estimated aid has dropped by two-thirds since then.
