Peaches Geldof, the daughter of Bob Geldof, has died. She was 25-years-old and the mother of two young boys.

The UK ambulance service says her death was 'sudden'.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of her death which police are describing as 'unexplained' and 'sudden'.

Bob Geldof and the family have released a statement.

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing 'was' destroys me afresh" he said.

"What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is".

This was one of the last photos she posted on her Instagram account - it is of her & her mother, Paula Yates

"Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof"he added.

Her husband Tom Cohen said in a statement "My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday".

She was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

In her last message on Twitter, she posted a picture of her as a child with her mother, who died of a heroin overdose in 2000.
