A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a lorry in Dublin.

It happened at Kilshane Cross in Newtown at around 9:30pm last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was brought to Dublin City Morgue.

Gardaí said the lorry driver did not need immediate medical attention.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. 

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage.
