A pedestrian has died following a road collision in Wexford.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 50s was killed in a collision in Wexford.

The incident, which involved a car and the pedestrian, occurred on the N25 at Stokestown at approximately 7.10pm yesterday.

No other injuries were reported.

The local coroner has been notified and a postmortem examination will take place soon.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will conduct a technical examination of the scene this morning.

The N25 Eastbound remains closed this morning, with traffic being diverted through New Ross town.

Any witnesses to the incident, including motorists with dash cam footage, have been urged to contact Gardaí.
