A pedestrian has died following a two-vehicle crash in Limerick last night.
Gardaí said the incident happened on the Dublin Road in Castletroy at approximately 9.50pm.
The pedestrian in the crash was brought to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of one of the cars failed to remain at the scene.
The driver of the other car, a man in his 40s, and a female passenger were also brought to UHL where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The scene of the collision is currently preserved while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination.
The Dublin Road between the junction of the Groody Roundabout through to the junction of the Golf Links Road is closed. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí in Limerick are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has footage to come forward.
