A man has died following a crash on the M1 near junction five in north Dublin.
Gardaí said the crash involving a car and a pedestrian happened at roughly 4am today.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The M1 Northbound from junction four to junction five is currently closed for examination. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone with dashcam footage of the M1 Northbound between 3.15am and 4.15am.
This is the 10th road death in Ireland in 2024.
A man also died in a single-vehicle jeep crash on the R448 at Halverstown, Co Kildare, yesterday evening.
