A pedestrian has been knocked down by a car in Dublin City this evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:15pm on O'Connell St.

Emergency services are attending the scene and the condition of the pedestrian is not yet known.

The left lane is currently closed to traffic southbound on O'Connell St at the North Earl St Junction.

Motorists can expect long delays in the area as a result.
