A man in his 40s is in serious condition in hospital following a crash in Cork city last night.
Gardaí said the incident between the car and a pedestrian happened shortly after 9pm on the R852 Mahon Link Road in Cork City.
The pedestrian was taken to Cork University Hospital, where his condition was described as serious.
The driver did not require medical assistance.
The scene is preserved for examination. Traffic diversions are in place on the Mahon Link Road from Skehard Road to St Michael’s Drive.
Gardaí in Cork are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage.
