A pedestrian in his 70s died after he was involved in a collision with a lorry on Chapel Lane, Mountmellick, County Laois late this afternoon. 

The man’s body remains at the scene and the road remains closed with Gardaí due to carry out an inspection.

The driver of the lorry did not require medical attention.
