Penneys has officially opened its new store at Dundrum Town Centre.
The new outlet is 60% larger than the old Penneys store in the centre – with the retailer now occupying the second and third floors of the old House of Fraser site.
Penneys owner Primark said it has invested €16m in the new store, which now becomes the third largest Penneys in Ireland.
It said the new store will create 130 new local jobs – bringing the total headcount at the store to 360.

Penneys Ireland chief Damien O’Neill said the Dundrum store is now ‘bigger and better’ than ever.
“This has been a significant project for our property and retail teams, and the finished result looks incredible,” he said.
“We think customers new and old are going to love Penneys’ amazing, expanded retail space.
“Our continued investment in our Irish business demonstrates the confidence and commitment we have in our home market and we are proud to continue to play our part in supporting Irish cities, towns and communities.”

Penneys said customers can expect a “much wider range” at the new store as well as 32 new self-checkout tills across two floors.
There is also ‘WornWell,’ a new in-store beauty salon and a vintage and one-off clothing concession, run by the Vintage Wholesale Company.
Penneys currently has 37 stores in Ireland and today’s opening is part of the company’s commitment to invest over €250m in Ireland in the next ten years.
The store was officially opened by Junior Business Minister Neale Richmond this morning.
