Penneys has announced plans to relocate and expand its Dundrum store.
The retailer is moving into the old House of Fraser site in the shopping centre in Dublin, which is 64% bigger than its current branch.
Almost €15 million is being invested in the upgrade.
Work will begin in the autumn, and the current store will remain open during construction.
The new store is then expected to open next summer.
Damien O’Neill, Head of Penneys ROI and NI, said: “We are so delighted to finally confirm the relocation and expansion of our Dundrum Town Centre store next year.
"We have big plans and great ideas around how we bring our unique in-store design to life for our Dundrum customers, and we look forward to opening early next summer."
The House of Fraser store in Dundrum has been closed since 2020, when the struggling British department store chain was served notice by their landlords at the south Dublin shopping centre.
Brown Thomas has taken over two of the other floors of the now-vacant site and plans to open a new flagship store this year.
