People are being urged to give blood ahead of St Patrick's Day and the Easter holiday period.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says it may not be able to maintain supplies to hospitals over the coming two weeks.
Currently blood supplies stand at four to fivedays.

A number of special mobile clinics are being set up this Sunday - March 20th - to facilitate extra donations.
