Peter Barry was born in Cork in August 1928 the son of Tony Barry, a Fine Gael TD who also sold Barry’s Tea in his shop in Cork City.
Peter worked in the business, and was behind its successful expansion into the company we know today. In 1969 he ran for the Dail and served as a Minister in several administrations, including Minister for Foreign Affairs when he helped negotiate the Anglo-Irish Agreement.
Peter and his wife Margaret had 6 children, Tony, who runs the tea business, Deirdre who was recently elected an MEP for Fine Gael and Fiona, Donough, Conor and Peter. His wife Margaret sadly died last year and is greatly missed by her family.
And these are Peter Barry’s Musical Heirlooms.
