Two people have escaped injury after a petrol bomb attack on a house in Drogheda this morning.
The attack is believed to be linked to an ongoing feud in the County Louth town.
Gardaí said “extensive damage” was caused to the inside and outside of the house in Rathmullen Park.
The two people who were inside escaped without injury and the house next door was also evacuated.
A person wearing dark clothing was seen running from the area at the time.
Gardaí said it happened at around 5:10am and have appealed for witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
They are also calling for anyone involved in milk deliveries or bin collections or who may have been working in the area to come forward.
The attack is the latest series of violent incidents in the County Louth town.
At least 25 additional Gardaí are to be brought in to deal with an ongoing feud in the area.
A technical examination is underway at the house and an incident room has been set up at Drogheda Garda Station.
The investigation is ongoing.
