The Environment Minister is under fire after giving assurances to some of his constituents in Co. Kilkenny that a Traveller family would not be housed in their locality.
A spokesperson for Phil Hogan has told the Irish Daily Mail that a letter on the matter was sent from his constituency office signed on his behalf by a secretary.
Mary-Lou McDonald wants a Dáil statement from Minister Hogan.
But attempts by the Sinn Fein TD to raise it on the order of business were ruled out of order.
Mr. Hogan also cut an interview on local radio short in relation to the same issue.
He was being tackled by Green Party councillor Malcolm Noonan in relation to representations he made with regard to Traveller housing.
The Minister was speaking on The Sue Nunn Show on KCLR when he chose to end the conversation.
