An 18-year-old man charged in connection with a violent incident in Phoenix Park has said it was “not some sort of attack on the gay community”.
Reece Murphy appeared before Dublin District Court this morning with one count of violent disorder, the production of a hammer and two counts of dangerous driving on June 17th.
Mr Murphy's solicitor told the court the accused is “not in any way homophobic”.

There was no objection to bail, which was granted providing he abides by certain conditions.
Mr Murphy will appear in court again in September.
