50 years ago, Bill Clinton visited the White House and little would he know that he would be calling it home nearly 30 years on.

On July 24th 1963 this photo was taken, showing the 42nd President of the United States shaking hands with one of his Democrat predecessors, John F Kennedy.

Aged 16 at the time, Clinton was in Washington as part of a American Legion Boys Nation Programme.
