The Northern Lights could were highly visible from Northern Ireland last night and NASA were trending worldwide after tweeting a picture of the solar light show from space.

They may have an unfair advantage but this photo is truely stunning:

NASA weren't the only people capturing the captivating phenomenon.

After flying across Norway by dog sled and snow mobile, broadcaster Teena Gates along with extremeireland.ie witnessed the Northern Lights last month.
