Police photographer Bennie Van Staden has admitted objects were moved around when photographing the scene of Reeva Steenkamp's killing.
Mr Van Staden, looking at photos taken at the scene, said someone had moved a cricket bat.
He also told the court he may have moved a bathmat while photographing a handgun.
Bathroom
The defence tried to portray a disorganised crime scene and suggested there were two officers taking photos in the bathroom, at the same time.
Barrie Roux showed time-stamped photos on the court monitor and said a police ballistics officer, Lt. Col Motha, was taking pictures of his own in the bathroom passage.
Mr Van Staden said "as far as I can remember" he was alone until the arrival of another officer some time later.
But the witness was surprised when a close-up of one of his photos taken outside of the bathroom showed someone else inside the room.
Bedroom
Two pictures of Pistorius' bedroom taken two days apart were also examined, with the defence claiming they showed the scene had been disturbed.
Mr Van Staden told the court he moved a gym bag but said he did not know who shifted around other objects, including flip flops, a fan and a TV remote control.
Barrie Roux told the police photographer that even if he was alone, it was strange that he photographed for evidence purposes, though they were not in their original places:
Earlier, the defence asked the photographer if he knew the difference between the front and the back of a cricket bat, while questioning about moving the bat - which Pistorius is thought to have used to try and break down the bathrood door.
That line of questioning was interrupted though by the prosecutor:
Charges
Oscar Pistorius (27) is charged with the pre-meditated murder of Ms Steenkamp, who was shot dead at Pistorius' home on Valentine's Day last year.
Pistorius says he thought she was an intruder and killed her by mistake.
He is also accused of illegally possessing ammunition, as well as two further counts related to shooting a gun in public in two separate incidents before the killing.

Because there are no jury trials in South Africa, his fate will be decided by a judge, working with two assessors.
