Clashes have broken out between anti government protestors and police in the Ukraine. 

The trouble started after more than 200 thousand people gathered in the country's capital of Kiev, to protest about controversial new laws, aimed at curbing protests. 

Police used clubs and tear gas in a bid to disperse the crowds. 

The new legislation bans the wearing of masks and includes 5 year jail terms for people found guilty of blockading public buildings.
