Police in New York have raided one man’s home over a dozen times and still not found him – because he died in 2006!

The family of James Jordan, who was last arrested in 1996 for jumping a turnstile, are so desperate to avoid further police raids on their house that they’ve attached his death notice to the front door.

His widow Karen cannot understand the NYPD’s fixation with her husband, whose criminal record amounted to no more than three arrests in 1996. Undeterred by his death nearly a decade ago, they have searched the house four times in the last year alone.

The family have become incredibly frustrated at the raids, which inevitably trash their apartment. Speaking to the NY Post, Mrs Jordan said:

“They tell me to be quiet or they’ll lock me up. So they go through my entire house, turning out drawers, looking in closets, harassing my children and asking them terrible questions.”

Officers even attempted to arrest their son, James Jr, when he told them his name. The family have filed a lawsuit in a federal court in order to end the harassment, though they may have more raids to endure before their case is heard.
