Police in North investigating discovery of two bodies in separate incidents on Christmas Eve

Police in the North are investigating after the bodies of two men were found in separate incidents on Christmas Eve.

In the first, 63-year-old Ronald Reid was discovered at his apartment in Bangor.

His death is being treated as suspicious after a post mortem revealed a number of unexplained injuries.

It is believed the injuries may have been sustained on Monday 22nd of December.

Separately, a murder investigation has been launched in east Belfast, where 41-year-old Matthew Goddard was found at around 9.40pm on the night before Christmas.

Police believe Mr Goddard suffered a brutal attack during which he was beaten with his own electric guitar in the living room of his home.

A 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested today in connection with the murder and are being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.
