A man arrested after gardai found drugs and a fake gun onboard a train at Blackrock DART station in Dublin has been granted bail.
Gardai boarded the train earlier this month after receiving reports of two men acting suspiciously in one of the carriages.
On April 6th, Krzyszfof Rudnicki boarded a DART train heading south from Dublin city centre.
Staff on-board the train became concerned after they spotted him with a bag acting suspiciously in one of the carriages. They called gardai and officers waited for the train at Blackrock DART station.
During a search, officers found an imitation firearm, some cannabis, ecstasy tablets and other drug paraphernalia - including a weighing scales.
Mr. Rudnicki was arrested and appeared in court today where he applied for bail.
At the moment, he is facing various drug charges but gardai told the judge that further more serious charges are being considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
They said the Polish native has no ties with this country and represented a flight risk. In any event, bail was granted under strict conditions and Mr. Rudnicki is due back in court next month.
