Yesterday, Newstalk Breakfast spoke to Pat King of the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland and the topic of grinds came up, drawing a huge response from you, our listeners.
This morning we’re asking how commonplace grinds are and if, and why they’re needed by students.
A Newstalk survey has found that hour long grinds cost €23.50 outside of Dublin and €22.70 inside the capital.
This survey shows the cost of hour long grinds in Leaving Cert English for a fifth year student in their own home.
In comparison the cost of attending grinds schools varied from €16.66 to €32.14.
