It was claimed today that Ireland's been hit by a 1-in-50 year weather event - every year for the past 6.
Bord na Mona Chief Executive Gabriel D'Arcy says the trend in their records shows the impact of climate change on Ireland each year.
D'Arcy references the recent flooding across the country, last summer's heatwave, the wet summers from 2007-2012, and the torrential downpours and freezing winters in recent years.
He says we should be concentrating more on renewable energy to cope with the changing conditions.
