Barnardos CEO Fergus Finlay told Newstalk Breakfast this morning he hoped the appointment of a regulator was made in “open competition”.
Justice Minister Alan Shatter yesterday announced that one of his department officials Úna Ní Dhubhghaill would lead the regulating body.
The appointment has been welcomed in light of the recent revelations regarding salaries for senior staff in some Irish charities.
