The Lord Mayor of Dublin has accused the programme for the St Patrick’s Festival of being “complacent” over the years and that they are a “missed opportunity”.

Labour councillor Oisin Quinn criticised the annual celebrations at the Lord Mayor’s ‘events meeting’, saying they did not send out the right message singling out the mini-Funderland as an example.

Festival CEO Susan Kirby defended the 2014 programme stating it had not yet been made finalised.

In relation to the Merrion Square funfair, Ms Kirby said the event was extremely popularly with families and young people.

What do you think? What would you like to see included in the festivities in your area?
