As we enter a third weekend of the most glorious sunshine, one of Ireland's most rarely spotted species continues to emerge from the woodwork: the shirtless sun-lover. Whether it's a topless middle-aged man or a young woman in a skimpy bikini, there is certainly more skin on display when the sun is shining. And that's not even going into 'short shorts' and hotpants.
Many, perhaps, have no major problems with these sort of displays, especially if it's attractive members of the opposite sex engaging in the practice. For others - seemingly more and more as the 'heatwave' continues - it's one of the more unwelcome side-effects of the good weather. "Won't someone think of the children!" you might hear someone plea if you listen carefully, while others are forced to endure more skin than they would have otherwise requested. After all, it's common knowledge that sun-allergic Irish skin is rarely something worth parading about.
It's become such a common sight that some shops have taken to warning customers that they will simply not condone toplessness:

A Supervalu in Swords has also issuesd a stern written warning, informing customers "during this spell of very hot weather, customers are requested to adhere to our strict policy on health and hygiene and wear a t-shirt or other suitable clothing".
What are your views on people 'dressing down' for the weather? Are shops right in forcing shirtless or otherwise scantily-clad customers to cover up before entering? Or is it just political correctness gone wild, and no harm done as long as certain lines of common decency remain uncrossed? Vote in our poll and leave your comments below.
