Ministers will meet for the last time before Christmas to discuss reducing the age of consent from 17 to 16.

Justice Minister Alan Shatter has raised the matter as part of measures dealing with child exploitation.
However, it's understood that the Minister's memo doesn't give any recommendation on whether the age of consent should be lowered.
Education Minister Ruairi Quinn told Newstalk Breakfast this morning that it's time the law caught up with society.
