16-year-old Seamus O’Connor from San Diego is Ireland’s best hope at the Olympic Games. The snowboarder, whose grandparents hail from Drogheda and Dublin, will be flying the tricolour in Sochi on February 7th.
The other Irish athletes include:
- Sean Greenwood, skeleton rider, from Vancouver whose mother comes from Galway
- Conor Lyne, alpine skier, from Utah whose father is from Kerry
- Jan Rossiter, Nordic skier, who was born in Cork
- Florence Bell, downhill skier, from Streetly in England
