Children will end up living with their parents until they are 35 unless there is an increase in housing supply, Economic and Social Research Institute research professor John FitzGerald has said.
Speaking at the Trinity Economic Forum over the weekend, Prof. Fitzgerald then added, “they might not mind this, but their parents will”.
Last month, a UK report stated that more than 25% of young people, aged between 20-34 years old, lived with their parents. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) cited housing affordability as the main reason.
