With our Irish charm and some very catchy songs we are still the most successful country in the history of Eurovision with seven wins, including a famous hat trick of wins in the early 90s.
Although the Eurovision is regarded in some circles as a bit of a cheese-fest, it does pull in 170 million views worldwide across 36 countries, making it a huge platform for both the artists and the host nations.
This year we have a choice between five different songs to represent us.
The winning song will be selected on the Late Late Show tonight and as with previous years, Ireland’s entry will be chosen by a combination of public and regional jury votes.
Eoghan Quigg is probably the most recognisable face among the bunch having finished third in X Factor five years ago behind Alexandra Burke and boy band JLS.
