A post mortem is being carried out on the body of a young man found dead in Co. Monaghan yesterday afternoon.

The discovery was made at a flat in Emyvale shortly after midday.

It's believed the 19 year old had been assaulted outside a nightclub on the Kelvin in Omagh in Co. Tyrone, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Both the Gardai and the PSNI are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, pending the outcome of today's post mortem.

It's understood officers are looking for a man in relation to the assault - he's described as being of stocky build with red or blonde hair.
