Gardai are investigating whether the body is that of 52 year old Bobby Ryan, who was reported missing almost two years ago.

Bobby Ryan, a truck driver and DJ from Cashel, was last seen leaving for work on June 3rd, 2011.

His van was found at Bansha Woods in Co Tipperary on the day he disappeared, but numerous searches and several appeals proved fruitless.

Yesterday, his relatives gathered outside the house at Fawnagown, awaiting news on whether the body found there in an underground tank was that of Bobby.

A post mortem will be carried out later to establish how the man died. Forensic teams are continuing to examine the scene, with detectives leading the investigation from Tipperary Town Garda Station.
