A post mortem examination is taking place on the body of a man who drowned in Co. Donegal.

Gardaí were called to Rathmullan Pier just before 11pm last night. It's understood the man may have fallen into the water while mooring his boat at the pier.

The man has been named locally as Dan Gallagher (85) of Killycoleman in Rathmullan.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of Mr Gallagher's death, which is not being treated as suspicious.
